About Me
My name is Niels Snijder
I’m 39 years old and grew up in the northwest of the Netherlands, where I developed a deep connection with water and the sea.
As a child, I often joined my father on his journeys onboard the tugboat.
Inspired by his passion, I followed in his footsteps and eventually became a Tugboat Master myself.
Since 2007, I’ve been working in the Port of Amsterdam,
where I assist ships arriving and departing from the harbour.
Beyond my daily work, I enjoy taking on new challenges,
from conducting sea trials to providing training that helps others grow and develop their skills within the maritime industry.
I live together with Loes, and we are proud parents.
Outside of work, I love traveling to beautiful destinations and spending time on the water, sailing our little boat.
