Inland Job – Houseboat Transport
The next assignment was a bit different: inland towing of houseboats.
Using two smaller tugs, we connected to the houseboats and towed them to the drydocks for scheduled maintenance.
The route included navigating through narrow canals and passing alongside ocean-going vessels in the busy North Sea Canal — a unique combination of tight manoeuvring and heavy traffic.
This was a daytime operation, with one houseboat transported from Amsterdam to the drydocks in IJmuiden, and another completed vessel returned to its berth near Haarlem.
Thanks to Tim for the great collaboration on this job!
